Clinical Orientation
Life disruption, sudden change, and loss are inevitable parts of being human. Dr. Manoff specializes in purpose-driven therapy to support individuals through grief, loss, and major life transitions—such as heartbreak, divorce, emerging adulthood, or significant shifts like becoming newly married or starting a new chapter. Clients often come to Dr. Manoff during pivotal life shifts, when old ways of coping no longer work and something new is trying to emerge. Dr. Manoff’s approach is compassionate and intentional, centered on helping clients navigate these challenging moments with presence and a sense of meaning.
The underlying philosophy that guides his work is: Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional.
Dr. Manoff works with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, drawing from a multicultural lens when developing treatment plans. Together, they explore the underlying patterns and histories that might contribute to current difficulties, such as the repetition of trauma or relational wounds, while honoring each person’s or family member’s inner wisdom and courage.
While therapy may involve discomfort, Dr. Manoff believes in pacing the process appropriately, with care and attunement. His hope is to guide clients toward re-emergence, personal growth, and a deeper connection to their authentic selves.
